    New Ranking System

Post  Nixxiom on Tue Mar 09, 2010 4:00 pm

As you may or may not have noticed, Dominion decided to reset the ranks of all the guilds setting us back to the original guild system at start up. While I was setting up the ranks again and demoting/repromoting people though I decided that I was going to do a few things to the ranks in the guild. So here they are laid out infront of you. The ranks, what they do, how to achieve them, and how to lose them:

    ------------------------------------------

    Churl
-What is a Churl you might ask? Well if you look the term up you'll find out that a Churl is merely an individual who works within a kingdom, has no status or power, but is protected by their Lord through military means. What does this mean in the Eternal though? It means you're a new member that has no power or voice within the guild.

    How to gain this Rank:
    -Join the guild.

    ------------------------------------------

    Shade
-A Shade is considered a full member of the guild that now has the respect of other guild members and the full protection of the Dark Council and the Dark Lord himself. A Shade can take many paths upon achieving his/her rank. He/She can join the Eternal military and be promoted to Soldier or create an in-guild group that does events within the guild (ex. Rangers or The Watch). Over all, whatever direction the Shade decides to go on is the direction he/she is free to choose.

    How to gain this Rank:
-Pass the BRPE Test as a Churl

    How to lose Rank:
-Be immature, disrespectful, ect resulting in a G-kick.

    ------------------------------------------

    Soldier
-A Soldier is a warrior within the Eternal's army that works directly under the Fist of the Dark Council or an appointed Lord. A Soldier is responsible for protecting the members of the guild with his/her life and must have the skills necessary to complete tasks assigned to him/her. Patience, respect, maturity, ect. A Soldier is the backbone of the Eternal.

    How to gain this Rank:
-Visit the Fist of the Eternal or an appointed Lord and sign up into the Eternal's Military.

    How to lose Rank:
-You can lose the rank of Soldier very easily. If you show that you have no patience or discipline you'll be instantly demoted back to Shade.

    ------------------------------------------

    Thane
-Thanes are elite soldiers within the Eternal and serve directly under the Dark Lord himself as his elite unit and guard. To become a Thane is one of the highest honors within the Eternal due to the fact that you've shown that not only are you loyal and respectful, but you're a great assets to the Eternal over all as a loyal fighter. A Thane has power over any soldier he/she chooses if the soldiers overseeing Lord allows it. A Thane should be respected by ALL members within the guild. Even Dark Council members. Thanes are even capable of becoming Dark Council members.

    How to gain this Rank:
-A Thane is an experienced and well molded soldier, so obviously one must have been a soldier and in the Eternal's military. A Thane must also show that he/she is capable of high leadership and is willing to sacrifice their time and will to the guild to better it over themselves. A Thane can only be promoted if the Dark Lord himself allows it. The Eye of the Eternal does NOT have the ability to promote a soldier to Thane.

    How to lose Rank:
-Losing the rank of Thane is a huge downfall within the Eternal and is giving with the addition of a Mark of Shame within the persons officer note to show that this person has lost his/her respect within the guild. A Thane can be demoted for not showing leadership, not being loyal to the Eternal and the Dark Lord, and for being inactive within the guild without excuse.

    ------------------------------------------

    Commander
-Although Commander sounds like a glorious rank just by the title, it is only so if a person makes it so. A Commander is an individual within the Eternal that leads a group such as the Rangers or the Watch. Any person can be set to the rank of Commander only if the person is the rank of Thane or lower. Churl's cannot become Commanders. Commanders are in charge of leading their respective groups while working closely with the Fist and the Soul to create RP events for the Eternal.

    How to gain this Rank:
-To become a Commander simply create a group within the guild by posting a creation thread about it here on the forums under "Guild." Almost anyone can become a Commander but losing the rank can be VERY easy.

    How to lose Rank:
-A Commanders rank is one of the easiest ranks to be lost next to the Dark Council rank. As a Commander you must ALWAYS show that you're a leader and are able to organize and develop storylines and RP events that work well with the guild over all. If a Commander is showing that he/she isn't able to lead a group properly and the group has pretty much died, he/she is demoted back to Shade and his or her group is disbanded by the Fist of the Eternal.

    ------------------------------------------

    Lord
-A Lord is a rank that can be fun or tedious depending on the type of person you are. As a Lord you're incharge of an estate along with two others (3 Lords per estate). Lords can also be appointed to lead groups of Soldiers (4 at most) in squads. A Lord is responsible for teaching leadership and should always show great discipline within their rank status. All Lords though are apart of the "Council Of Lords." The Council of Lords are in charge of creating guild RP events (that must be approved by the Soul of the Eternal) and ensuring the guild is running smoothly when the Dark Council and Dark Lord is away. A Lord has the power to remove any person from the guild at will and promote individuals to the rank of Shade and Soldier if necessary. A Lord is also responsible for recruiting individuals into the guild.

    How to gain this Rank:
-To become a Lord you must show that you can handle responsibility within the guild and show a huge amount of Leadership. A Lord can be promoted from Shade, Soldier, Thane, or even Commander. A Lord however must always be ready to sacrifice time for the Eternal.

    How to lose Rank:
-Losing the rank of Lord is another demotion that results in a Mark of Shame. If you lose the rank it shows that you either were not showing leadership, were not teaching your appointed soldiers, were not helping create RP events, or just not being a mature individual. A Lord can be demoted at anytime by the Shadow, Soul, or the Dark Lord.

    ------------------------------------------

    Dark Council Members
-In total there are 4 Dark Council members and the Dark Lord, creating the Dark Council entirely. However, each Dark Council member has their own title and job to fulfill. That is why this section is in categories.

    -The Shadow-
-The Shadow is the direct shadow of the Dark Lord himself making him 2nd in command of the ENTIRE guild. His/Her job is managing everything in the guild just as the Dark Lord does himself. He can appoint new Dark Council Members and remove fellow Dark Council members if he wishes at any time as long as the Dark Lord approves. He is also in charge of making sure all Dark Council members are doing their respective jobs. If not, he is to demote them to a rank he sees fit for them.

    -The Eye-
-The Eye of the Eternal is in charge of all recruiting for the guild and ensures that all Lords are recruiting as well. The eye also works as an ambassador to other guilds and can deny or approve a treaty between the Eternal and another guild at will. If the Eye declares war and receives the Dark Lord's nod, the Eternal goes to war. The Eye also looks for individuals within the guild that deserve a promotion. He sends these individuals names' to the Dark Lord for review.

    -The Soul-
-The Soul of the Eternal is focused on the creation of events for the Guild. The Soul works directly with the Council of Lords and can call a meeting of them at any point in time. The Soul is also the one that must approve ANY RP Event before it is done. That includes a RP event that even the Shadow of the Eternal has created. The only individual who can activate an event without the Soul's permission is the Dark Lord himself.

    -The Fist-
-The Fist of the Eternal is in charge of ALL of the Eternal's military and the groups within the guild. He/She appoints Lords to lead certain soldiers and ensures that they work in accordance with his/her guidelines. He/She also has the power to destroy a member created group at will if it doesn't live up to what the Eternal expects. He then would demote the Commander of the group down to an appropriate rank. If a Commander steps down from leading a group, the Fist has the power to appoint another willing group member to lead the group.

The Dark Council leads and controls the guild and has achieved one of the highest honors you can achieve within the guild. The Dark Council is constantly working to ensure that everyone in the guild is having fun, making them the symbols of the deepest of respects within the guild. Any individual who disrespects a Dark Council member is disrespecting the Dark Lord himself.

    How to gain this Rank:
-A Dark Council position is the highest position one can achieve within the guild, making it the hardest to get to. An individual must show astounding leadership qualities and must be able to put aside lots of their time to help the guild and please its members. An individual must also show extreme dedication to the Dark Lord and must also prove their worth to him through a series of tests he issues to them.

    How to lose Rank:
-Losing the rank of Dark Council is another demotion that results in a mark of shame only if all the Dark Council members agreed that demoting you was the best option. A Dark Council member can be demoted for numerous reasons ranging from not showing leadership abilities, not doing their respective jobs, to not showing the Dark Lord proper respect. Losing the rank of Dark Council isn't always bad though. A Dark Council member could be demoted simply to be put on the Council of Lords to help manage their Council and aid them if needed.
